WORLD WATER DAY 2010

The National Planning Committee of this year's World Water Day celebration on the theme CLEAN WATER FOR A HEALTHY WORLD has decided to organize the following programmes and activities at its inaugural meeting on Tuesday, 19th January, 2009. The actual dates for each activity will be posted in due course.



  1. Junior High Schools Essay competition in Tarkwa on Friday, 12th March, 2010.

  2. Senior High Schools quiz competition in Tarkwa to be covered live by a local radio station on Friday, 19th March, 2010.

  3. Health Walk, Health Screening and the formation of the Longest Toilet Queue for signatures in Accra on Saturday, 20th March, 2010.

  4. Procession by students holding placards with water and sanitation messages to the durbar grounds on Monday, 22nd March, 2010. 

  5. Flag hoisting durbar to climax the celebrations in Tarkwa on Monday, 22nd March, 2010.

  6. Radio and TV talk shows from Monday, 15th March, 2010 through out the year.

  7. Feature articles, editorials etc in the newspapers - Ongoing in the National newspapers ie. Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.
