Project Manager
The Government of Ghana with the support of the European Commission has allocated funds for the project: “DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL AND RIVER BASIN INTEGRATED WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLANS”.
The project has been designed with the purpose of strengthening the procedures, work routines and enhancing the capacity of Water Resources Commission (WRC) towards the general aim of introducing Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) at all appropriate levels of society through the process of preparing national and basin based IWRM plans.
The Government of Ghana acting through the Water Resources Commission requires the services of a Project Manager. The person shall be responsible for managing and monitoring the activities of the project on behalf of the Water Resources Commission.
Job Description Summary:
Assist the Imprest administrator to:
- Draw up and implement Programme Estimates
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders on relevant issues
- Manage consultants and contractors on the project
- Prepare technical report
- Ensure that the activities are on schedule
- Commits the expenditure provided for in the imprest component of the programme estimate
- Accepts the corresponding works, supplies and services
- Verifies for each invoice, payment request and interim or finalized statement of account that the works provided for were delivered and services provided for were rendered and or the actions effected are in accordance with the related contracts.
- Any other duties associated with the execution of the project
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of First Degree in water, sanitation or development related studies. A Masters Degree in the relevant fields is an advantage.
- With a first degree, a minimum of 10 years experience in the water and sanitation sector or project management
- With a Masters Degree, a minimum of 5 years experience in the water and sanitation sector or project management
- Familiar with financial management of donor funded projects
- Knowledge of EU procedures is highly advantageous
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- computer Literate
- Work under pressure with less supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Location: Accra (with periodic travel to project sites)
